Evan P. Donohue - Late Autumn

I'm grateful that somebody still believes in rock & roll. Evan P. Donohue mixes Buddy Holly with more contemporary bands like the Strokes. You can pay what you want for the digital version of his cassette release Late Autmn EP.

You can also grab his album, Rhythm & Amplitude, from his Bandcamp. My favorite track right now is "Something Good."

The Shimmies - Judas

Here's some great indie rock with an atmospheric pop bent. I heard about The Shimmies from My Old Kentucky Blog. Think post-rock pop and you'll be headed in the right direction, I think.

Big K.R.I.T. - Return of 4 Eva

Krit just dropped a new mixtape. I posted the video for its single a few days ago. He's conscious and smooth; in my opinion, the most important things for becoming a seriously regarded artist. I'm halfway in to Return of 4 Eva and it's solid. Heard about it from The Needle Drop. Grab it for free from his website.

Lonesome Ghost - None of These Songs are About You or Anyone You Know

Do you like the idea of wistful sixties pop meets nineties indie guitar band? Me too. Dallas, Texas based band Lonesome Ghost is doing that. They released this EP with a gargantuan title back in February. Grab it for free from their bandcamp.

Stephen's Hero - Caroline Says

Seventeen, prolific and good are all words I would've liked to have in the same sentence about me when I was in high school. Cameron Howell who records as Stephen's Hero gets such a luxury. I posted about his self titled Stephen's Hero release in the inaugural post and now he's given me more to tell you about. This follows in the same suit of aggressive acoustic guitar pop as the first release but more polished. Plans for the studio in the summer for an album release have been mentioned. Something to look forward to indeed.
